The Academy of Performing Arts, Orleans, MA

Supporting our Community, our economy and our business partners for over 30 years.

It is with great pride that we are celebrating over 30 years as a vibrant arts institution.

The Academy has a rich and varied history of excellence in the performing arts dating back to a vision by its founders, John and Elizabeth Kelly.

Come and see a great performance at the Playhouse, enroll in dance, music or theater classes at the School or take advantage of the Academy's varied Outreach program offerings.

The Playhouse attracts over 21,000 people each year with its lively drama and entertainment. The Playhouse produces more than 10 shows a year, including musicals, dramas, comedies, and original works. In addition, creative music series, benefit performances and faculty performances are all presented at the Playhouse throughout the year to packed audiences. Well known theater directors, music directors, set design artists and costume designers all come to the Playhouse to collaborate with Cape artists, under the artistic direction of Peter Earle.

The School, under the direction of former student, freelance director/choreographer and teacher, David McCarty, offers year round instruction in dance, music , voice and theater for students of all ages. Throughout the years, students have come to the Academy with a broad range of interests and abilities to study and perform with professionals who bring with them a wealth of talent in each discipline.

The Academy's Outreach program provides schools and other organizations with residencies, workshops, assemblies and a variety of other venues to promote the integration of the arts throughout community life and the school curriculum.
